Last night we went to This is NOLA at the Joy Theater, a free event that takes place monthly and showcases “the newest sights, tastes and sounds of New Orleans.” It was a great time, and the music was fantastic – standouts were Sweet Crude, a percussion-heavy band that embraces Southern Louisiana’s french-speaking tradition, and Boyfriend, otherwise known as the “Carol Burnette of hip hop.” Check out their tunes on our Music page!
